We are seeking an experienced Application Support Team Leader with hands-on technical skills to lead one of our key Support teams. As well as proven experience of leading a successful team and strong technical capabilities, you will ideally be from a strong Consultancy background. With first class customer facing skills and a genuine passion for quality & professional delivery, you will be looking for a new challenge with a company that genuinely recognises and rewards its star performers.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include;

  • Managing and leading the team of Application Support Developers and the day to day operational activities including;
    • Team Meetings
    • One to One meetings
    • Discussing training/development plans
    • Liaising with HR regarding any issues
  • Prioritise and plan workload for self and the team
  • Designing, delivering and supporting complex enterprise solutions
  • Identifying the business impact of application issues to our customers
  • Communicating technical solutions/issues to both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Meeting challenging deadlines

We are seeking experience in the following areas;

Essential

  • Proven experience of successfully leading a team.
  • A track record in designing, delivering and supporting complex enterprise-scale Java/JEE solutions (at least 3 years, preferably more)
  • Good hands-on development skills in Java/JEE and related technologies
  • Experience of REST and SOAP Web Services
  • Involvement across the full project lifecycle (to successful deployment)
  • Good Unix skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting/investigation skills
  • System administration and scripting (JavaScript, Python, bash)

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a process driven environment ideally to ITIL standards (certifications in ITIL are also desirable)
  • Any knowledge or experience of:
    • Cloud computing
    • Security management (Vulnerability management, SSL/TLS)
    • Web service protocols (SOAP, REST, HTTP)
    • Service/API Gateway (Zuul, CA)
    • Application containers (Apache Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, Fuse, SpringBoot)
    • IAM and SSO (LDAP, SAML, OAuth)
    • Relational database skills (MySQL, Oracle)
